Frequently Asked Questions

We start dancers at 18 months as part of our parent and me program. Starting age 3 children can move to a non-parent assisted program in all genres of dance
OCDP does not require a certain dress code for classes (unless stated at the end of a class description) however, our recommended class attire for our classes can be found on our Dress Code page. Click here for more information and where to purchase.
We have several locations in OC, LA and Riverside county. Please refer to our “schedule” tab for all listings or view our drop down, “locations” to see which location is closest to you.
In most cases yes, unless the class is full. However, depending on when you register, you may not be eligible for recital after a certain date.
No, recital participation is not mandatory, however, most children want to participate to proudly show what they have accomplished. Recital is a big part of the dance world and is a wonderful experience for children from the costume, the fun backstage, the bonding with their class and instructors, and feeling proud of performing on stage. Plus, you can get some really cute and memorable photos!
At OC Dance we only charge cost for the costume from the vendor unlike studios that upcharge. They are the same costumes all studios use from the same vendors and are not made by OC Dance. Orders must be placed within the first couple of weeks of the session in order for OC Dance to get the orders placed in time to receive them for recital. Costumes take months to make and therefore must be placed early. The reason we do not allow spring registrants to participate in recital is due to the ordering process. We would be unable to get a costume in time for the show. All classes that require fall and spring enrollment in order to participate are listed in the winter books.
Ever After Princess is our sister company that was created for the families of our dancers. Our parents loved our staff so much they wanted them at their parties and asked us if we could host them. It took 8 years but we finally put together our character company with the best talent in SoCal and love offering characters, swimming mermaids, singers, face painters, crazy hair stylists and other fun things to our families. We also wanted to donate some proceeds to charity. Charity work is a big part of the character company and is something we take pride in every day.
Starlettes is OC Dance’s performance group. We call it a performance group as we perform several times a year but do not do the competitions nor travel out of state. In order to qualify for Starlettes dancers must have at least one year experience with OC Dance or a recommendation from their studio to prove they are ready for the longer, intensive class as well as the commitment. If you are interested contact OC Dance to get more information and see if you would like to be a part of this special team!
