Prima Princess Ballerina Academy (4-7)
The storybook princesses from Ever After Princess have turned themselves into prima ballerinas for an evening in gorgeous pancake tutus as Rapunzel and other favorites. Young ballet students will learn beginning ballet, grace, poise, basic manners & play games with their dance instructor and honorary Prima Ballerina Princess. Come dressed in your best ballet attire and hair in a bun ready to meet Rapunzel & dance. Ballet shoes recommended but not required. Time for photos at end of class for parents.
All In One Dance (6-10)
For those looking to try various dance genres in one workshop or just looking for a well-rounded foundation in dance, this workshop will expose dancers to various genres. Dancers will explore ballet, jazz, hip hop and dance flexibility training and techniques to further their knowledge in dance. Please wear dance attire. Ballet and jazz shoes recommended but not required.
Beginning Classical Ballet: Leaps & Turns (6-10)
In this workshop dancers will be learning the fundamentals and techniques for proper leaps and turns. Additionally, workshop will focus on techniques and practices to improve strength and flexibility for dancers and performers of any type. Ballet attire (leotard, tights, shoes) recommended.
Musical Theater: Acting Skills (6-10)
This intensive will delve deeper into the acting piece of musical theater that the 45 minute classes do not cover. Students will learn acting techniques that enable them to emote when speaking on stage and incorporate into scene work. Also covered will be setting the “scene” by use of stage space, incorporating emotion into lines with ease, group work, and audition techniques. Some musical theater dance combinations paired with lines to create scenes. Jazz or character shoes recommended, but sneakers okay.
Commercial Dance (6-10)
Dive into the dance world seen in movies, commercials, and on stage. Taught by former Disney performer, workshop consists of contemporary street dance, jazz, hip hop, character and lyrical dance moves and choreography. Workshop to include dance combinations, performance skills, and techniques that can be used to enhance performance presence, audition skills or simply present a more comprehensive dance foundation. Jazz shoes recommended or wear sneakers.
Hip Hop (6-10)
Workshop includes hip hop and breakdance moves, combination and choreography. Dancers will work on fluid dance moves, new choreography, and how to incorporate own style and creativity into this modern dance style. A fun, upbeat workshop for both beginners in dance or current OC Dance students. Focus also on musicality, confidence, stage presence, and improvisation in dance. Please wear sneakers or jazz shoes.
Musical Theater: Singing in Musicals (6-10)
Complimentary to the acting workshop or any CMT classes or camps, this workshop will concentrate on some vocal training, tips, and techniques to pair with acting and dancing in a musical number. Students will learn warm up and vocal techniques, how to emote properly and bring alive a musical number in song then pair it with proper acting and dance choreography. Portion of evening devoted to exercises and lessons in singing with confidence in front of familiar and unfamiliar audiences and practicing pieces in an “audition” format for future school or community play auditions. Jazz or character shoes recommended, but sneakers okay.
